At this level, learners have progressed to nearly reading
independently. Learners are able to process ideas in the
text and they can read more complex stories. Illustrations
may not be needed to understand the text.
This is a story of two children whose father was a warden
at Makutano Game Park. One day they visited the park
and were very excited to see wild animals. Often, their
father would come home looking sad. He would explain
to them that poachers were killing the park by hunting
wild animals. The story encourages learners to conserve
wildlife and the environment.
